Prior to making the leap to self-employment, I enjoyed several years as a software engineer for Tresys Technology in Columbia, Maryland. Tresys specializes in computer security. Computer security: the field where the greatest reward is when nothing happens. My wife Elizabeth recently discovered that the field of nursing was calling her something powerful, so she's set out to find out where that takes her. |

Before moving to Maryland, Elizabeth and I lived in North Carolina for a few years while I attended grad school. The day before packing up our apartment in Carrboro, I finished my master's degree in computer science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC I exercised my geek muscles in the department of computer science by studying computer vision.
Before grad school I spent ten months in the Apprentice Acting Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville, where we worked real hard and made a lot of great friends.
Before that, I graduated from Carleton College, where I got a B.A. in computer science and theatre arts.
